Divided into five sections, the permanent exhibition covers an area of roughly 3,000 square meters on three floors with six itineraries.
The Hoffmann kiln on the ground floor contains the collections of scientific instruments, models and machinery once belonging to the Aldini-Valeriani Institute. The kiln is encircled by two other sections: one is dedicated to the Galotti Brickworks and the production of bricks and other clay-based construction materials, while the other focuses on packaging.
On the first floor, visitors will find information on and examples of new and innovative inventions.
The second floor exhibits feature five centuries of Bolognese productive excellence, ranging from the historical silk industry, which used a sophisticated water distribution network to provide power to the production machinery, to 20th-century mechanical and mechatronic production.
